Professional Pet Sitters Week, the first full week of March, is celebrated annually. This week-long holiday is meant to honor the pet-care professionals who help to take care of our pets and companion animals while their owners are unavailable. Without these dedicated and caring pet sitters, pet owners would have no animal assistance to rely on. According to Pet Sitters International, Professional Pet Sitters Week is also meant to raise awareness about the benefits on in-home pet care and the viability of choosing professional pet sitting as a career.

We recommend celebrating your professional pet sitter by thanking them for their dedicated service to you and your family. Take the time to send your pet sitter a thank you note letting them know how valuable they are to the care of your beloved pet. Whether you have a dog, cat or turtle, pet owners know how stressful it can be leaving your animals home alone. Pet sitters help to alleviate the stress and provide the comforts of knowing your animal is in good hands.

So enjoy Professional Pet Sitters Week and consider offering to pet sit for someone you know!
