We fostered Kiara, we saved a family. Can you help save another?

We have just received this lovely message from our longtime client Linda S.

Dear Phinney’s Friends,

Once again I ended up in the hospital and once again Phinney’s Friends came to my rescue!! I needed to be hospitalized for two weeks, and I had no one to take care of my beloved ten-year-old Pomeranian named Kiara. Kiara is like my baby. She is my angel. She sleeps by my neck all night, cuddled up and is totally devoted to me.

I called Starr and she came to my house and picked up Kiara. Starr fostered Kiara for the two weeks I had to be away and I was at peace, knowing that my baby was in a loving home. Starr even texted me a picture of my dog in her new environment, which made me smile. When I got home, Starr brought Kiara to me and there were a lot of kisses and hugs that followed….

Thank You Phinney’s Friends. Thank You So Much.

Teeny tiny Kiara was adorable and behaved really well during the whole fostering. No need to say we are all thrilled we were able to keep this family together, thanks to the generosity of Starr, our Vice-President and Client Liaison.

Unfortunately, we receive dozens of calls every month from low-income and disabled  people, and from families who are losing their homes, who need temporary fostering for their animals. We generally cannot help them because we don’t have enough homes to shelter animals.

If you can foster a cat or dog for even a couple of days, please get in touch with us. If you have any ideas on how to we could find pro-bono boarding for an animal, we’d love to hear from you. We want to help more families and avoid unnecessary surrenders. And I’m sure we can do much more if we search for a solution together.
