Tips on spending less on pet care

The Wall Street Journal has just published an article with tips on how to save money on pet care. Here is a summary:

  • Read food labels. You may be paying more for specific wording, such as “premium”.
  • Look for lower prices for flea-and-tick protection products (the patent on one of the active ingredients used has expired). Try shopping on websites such as PetCareRx.com1800PetMeds.com and drsfostersmith.com—rather than at the veterinarian or a pet store.
  • When it comes to finding a vet, shop around.
  • Some animal shelters offer spaying or neutering services free or at a discount.
  • Some towns host free vaccination clinics, especially for rabies.

Just love getting all the latest news from Phinney’s Friends. In this difficult economic world we live in, all I can say is, “Thank You Phinney,’s Friends, for helping our ‘best friends’ stay in their Forever Homes . Without your kind work there would be many hearts broken.
