Phinney’s Friends has a new Board of Directors!

May 3, 2012

It’s hard to believe that another year has already passed. At the end of April, Phinney’s Friends completed its 3rd year as an independent nonprofit. And it’s all thanks to the hard work and dedication of our fantastic volunteers. In today’s busy world, we know how difficult it is to carve out time to give to volunteer work and all our clients and Phinney’s Friends Board appreciate so much what our volunteers do. Thank you!

The change of seasons brings changes to Phinney’s Friends as well. April 30th marked the end of my term as President of the Board. I am leaving the Board but will continue to be a volunteer. Our Vice-President, Leah Ben-Ami, also stepped down as a Board Member to pursue a fantastic career opportunity and her doctorate degree. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Leah, either.  She has generously offered to continue to help us out with financial reporting.

But never fear! Phinney’s Friends will continue to be in excellent hands. Daniela Caride, one of our Board Members and also our Volunteer Coordinator, was elected our new President. And Board Member Starr Maxwell, also our Client Liaison, became our Vice-President.

They have both helped create Phinney’s Friends three years ago, when the MSPCA could no longer keep the program running. And they are both animal lovers who have proven to be responsible and compassionate while dealing with our clients’ needs on a daily basis. They are more than able to keep on putting our resources into good use.

It is an honor and a privilege to be part of Phinney’s Friends and to have worked with such a talented, dedicated, selfless group of women on the Board. I am so proud of what we have accomplished so far, and will greatly miss working with them! I wish the new Board all the best in their stewardship of Phinney’s Friends.

Warmly,

Beth Macaluso
